My first portfolio website was built on Squarespace. Why? Because I like their stylish designs, and ease of use. Since then, I have used Wordpress.com, Wordpress.org, and my personal favorite, writing code. This Squarespace template served me well in the past and I am using it again.
I’m back to this template, rather than my basic one from the last couple years because I focusing on being a player on a variety of team. Capital Data Marketing, LLC is where I focused half my energy the last couple years but I need to learn more and rebuild my finances. I am returning to this simple and stylish format to focus on what I enjoy, making people money at low-risk and being the best version of myself.
CDM was my first registered company, and the problem was, I could not generate enough leads. I was learning pay-per-click advertising as I went I was nervous to cold call the amount of people necessary to build a company ( 150 phone calls a day). My goal setting out was providing the most valuable marketing services in Saint Louis. When I initially had the dream to start Capital Data Marketing, I thought I’d have a team with me as eager as I was to skip entry-level paychecks, formulate great plans, and reach out to business owners with valuable opportunities. Due to my poor leadership and lack of experience, it did not happen consistently.
What CDM gave me was business knowledge. Though we only completed a handful of projects, and I had to pick up a second job at my dad’s landscaping company to make ends meet, I was able to push myself creatively like never before. I can now make a Wordpress site on my local server with custom CSS, upload perfectly sized images to Google in-order to perform SEO, and claim I was the Creative Director on a commercial with over one-million views. Oh, and I took business trips!
What does the world hold for me now? I am going back to basics. I am back on my vintage Squarespace template (2014 me would be like “okay”), and am focusing on acting as well as professional pursuits. You know what they say? Location, location, location. Well, I lost my strategic advantage with where I am now, so let’s get a location again, and get an MBA within the next five years while I build my name as an actor.

P.S. My favorite year as an entrepreneur is still 2017. Let’s make 2019 the best.
